Well well...

Apparently he can run but he can't hide forever from wage garnishment. Wonder how long he'll stick with this job before he runs off again. Gotta love them dead beat dads.

Ladies, gentlemen, wenches, and rouges the world stopped spinning briefly today when I checked the child support website and saw that not only am I getting a child support check but, for the first time in about four years, it's for the full amount. o_O

Gee, whatever shall I do with a check in an amount larger than $6.00????

Of course this means now I'll have to be even more cautious of the Psycho Stalker...

Found in my inbox: Why Dogs Don't Live Long Lives

This really made me cry.

Ever Wonder Why Dogs Don't Live Long Lives:

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old Irish Wolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife, Lisa, and their little boy, Shane, were all very attached to Belker and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family there were no miracles left for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home. As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for the four-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on. Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away. The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion.

We sat together for a while after Belker's death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives. Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, "I know why."

Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation. He said, "People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?" The four-year-old continued, "Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

CD Art

A while back I was contacted by a man living in Nice, France wanting to use Vision of Lilith on a CD of his. After conversing with him I agreed for him to use the image so long as I was credited on the album sleeve and he send me a copy of the CD. Back in February he sent me the CD to my house down in Texas and my mother never sent it on to me up here so I just got it in my hands last week. Total awesomeness!!!!!!!!! The bonus is that I also like the music. It's chamber music. *grin*

You can look too:

Great, just fucking great...

I got another copy of an Order to Withhold sent to a place of employment for the Rat Bastard. This time it's a drilling company based in Casper Wyoming.

*SIGH*

a.bit.close.

Parker and I have already discussed walking up the block to file a restraining order against the Psycho Stalker since it appears she is now just a few hours away from me.

It's a good damn thing that since Parker grew up in the Casper area and wasn't impressed with the place he has no real desire to even visit that area of the state. We live on the Utah side of Wyoming. Hopefully she'll keep her foul self in Casper and away from me.

Snow Update

I said slight blizzard...

Now they are saying we are going to get around 20 inches of snow today and we are having gusts up to 45mph.

This would be why we have actual gates to close off the highway and not just the bar kind they just lower in other places...

Snow drift in backyard is around 6 feet now...

Life in the Frozen North

Snow.... and the ten day forecast.... more effin snow.... next Saturday we have a slight chance of sun.

The local library started a reading club earlier this month with a goal of reading ten books or more by April and in April we are going to have a "let it snow somewhere else" party.

Parker and I went to the next town over last night to go to Wal-Mart and in the hour it took in Wal-Mart it snowed enough for the highway department to put up the "chain law in effect" signs. We were happy to get back to the foothills so the snow was blocked a bit by the mountains and the roads were not as bad as in the flatter areas.

I saw three deer cross the street while we were getting gas which really isn't that big of a deal, we have deer walking around town all the time... one was even standing in the drive up at the bank one day... or was that an antelope... I forget, but I do know it wasn't the moose which finally did find it's way out of town.

I win!

Parker says I win Lazy WebCrafter of the Year because I've had content for FrogLace.com ready to go up for even longer than we've had the domain and the content actually up on the server since just right after we got it and I just typed (mostly copy paste and search & replace) a bit of code for the pages to display the content today. Not really an actual page either, just a bit of an include file.
